Lockdown

It has only just dawned on me that usually by now I'd have done a post about where all the exciting Easter events are happening and I'd now be getting all the info together about Summer festivals and village fairs. These are such strange times and it's important that you take care of your mental health, as well as your physical health right now. We don't know exactly how this is going to pan out so we need to make the most of what we've all been given - more time with our families.

Parenting is tough at the best of times so don't put too much pressure on yourself. The whole world is on pause right now, things can wait. Take advantage of the nice weather and sit in your garden if you have one, take a stroll around your neighbourhood, video call everyone you care about and be honest about how you're feeling. Take every day as it comes and don't try to predict anything.

On my Facebook page (and my new Youtube channel!) I am trying to upload some different ideas for activities you can do with your children. They are just simple things that you can do with things you'll have around your home. Hopefully they will kick start your imagination on days when you are running a bit low on ideas.

I am just about to update the What's On Calendar to reflect the new online class timetables so many of the groups are now doing. If you know of any more please let me know, or even better get the organiser to click on Submit and Event and they can add their details themselves for free.

If there is any other information you would like to see please let me know. This website and the Facebook page or here to help local families find all the information they need. I'd also love to get some guest blogs loaded, so if you've ever fancied writing something now is a great opportunity! Maybe you've got a great activity you'd like to pass on to other families, or you want to cast an expert eye over something, any ideas are welcome.

Stay happy and healthy everyone,
